GEM recently completed works as part of major refurbishments and the extension of the Food Market at Dunnes Stores in The Pavilions Shopping Centre, Dublin.
The project was completed in various phases over a twelve-week period and involved the fitting out of artisan food departments within the main store. The various food departments, namely a Market Delicatessen, a Butchers, a Bakery, a Cheesemonger and a Fishmonger are effectively shops within a shop, but each with their own individual identity.
The project demanded that the works had minimal impact on the store as it continued to trade, effectively minimising trading downtime. Each area was handed over after completion of the works within a mini refit programme of approximately two weeks.
This approach required each individual area to be separated from the rest of the shop by the introduction of internal hoardings which were erected and dismantled out of hours. The large number of trades working alongside each other, and the very restricted nature of the site, meant twenty -four hour working shifts were necessary in order to achieve programme milestones.
The end result is an array of visually striking and distinct food offerings, each creating its own exciting and enhanced shopping experience.
